Greg Ellison joined Alpha Bank London in January 2024 as Chief Executive Officer, bringing with him a wealth of experience and a reputation for thoughtful leadership in the financial services sector.
With 27 years in the industry, Greg has spent the past 17 operating at the highest levels—either as Managing Director or CEO. His career began in the UK with HBOS, where he honed his skills in regulated sales, before moving to Barclays Wealth. There, he served first as Head of Banking and later as Managing Director for the offshore businesses in Jersey, Guernsey, and the Isle of Man—an impressive portfolio by any measure.
Greg’s journey then took a more entrepreneurial turn. He spent five years in a privately owned multi-family office, establishing new ventures in Malta, the UK, and Dubai. Most recently, he served as CEO of Capital International Group, overseeing wealth management operations in the Isle of Man and South Africa. During his tenure, he founded and launched Capital International Bank—a fully digital corporate bank that stands as a testament to his forward-thinking approach.
Academically, Greg is equally accomplished. He holds a degree in Business Studies from Swansea University, an MBA from Henley Business School, and executive diplomas from both Oxford’s Saïd Business School and MIT. He is also a Chartered Director with the Institute of Directors.
In every role, Greg has demonstrated a rare blend of strategic vision, operational rigour, and a genuine passion for innovation. His leadership at Alpha Bank London promises to be nothing short of transformative.
